Notice Of Technical Updates To Our Code Approval Resources

By: Ryan Van Wert, Director of Engineering

Updates have been made to our TGFU R101028 Report, which describes our fire ratings for roofing systems. Duro-Last® Roof Pavers are now to be placed over the surface of any UL Certified Duro-Last membrane, TPO, or EPDM, roofing system and maintain the existing rating, when below a 2.5-inch incline. This will allow for the paver to be used over other existing roofing systems, including TPO and EPDM, without affecting the overall fire rating.

The UL TGFU report has also been updated to show available fire ratings for use with our new Duro-Last Solvent-Grip™ Spray Adhesive.

New FL 31331 Report for Florida High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ)

Additionally, we have recently added a new statewide Florida report, the FL 31331, to provide additional roof assembly options that meet the more stringent requirements of Miami-Dade and Broward counties in Florida. This will allow us to add and revise newly tested roof assemblies to meet these requirements up to 4 times a year.

While Florida HVHZ requirements are not applicable across the country as a whole, this provides an additional resource of roof assemblies when looking for code approvals for projects with elevated uplift pressures. All of our FL reports have also served as a great resource for the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Catastrophe Zones along the gulf coast.

Both of these documents, along with our other codes and approval documents, can be found on our website:  https://specs.duro-last.com.
